STAFF PROFILE
For owners and management teams reviewing me for admin, moderation, management, or technical roles in Discord communities.
If you read this and accept my application, say DUKEREAD. Not required.
I'm BuiltByDuke, also just Duke. Discord handle dukethecoolkid, ID 890739013160402964. This is a general application since I may be applying to more than one role depending on what you offer. Roles I'm interested in: Moderator, Human Resources, Support, Administration/Management, and Community Management.
Here's who I am, not just a list of past titles.
I'm 15 and have been on Discord since September 2021. The name BuiltByDuke comes from building Discord bots, a hobby I've kept up for a long time. I'm autistic, and part of that is hyperverbosity and hyperfocus on things I care about. In staff roles that works in my favor: once I commit, I commit fully.
I'm active on Discord, more so on weekends. I treat activity as part of the job. If something comes up, I say so in advance and hand off responsibly if I need to step down.
My grades are solid, so juggling staff work with school isn't a concern. I also type fast, around 70 WPM average, up to 110 WPM.
I learn fast. New system, new bot, new process, once I've got it, I can usually help others with it right after. I like supporting people, which is why support and moderation fit me well.
I build Discord bots. If you need one, I'll build it server-specific, with features that actually get used, not filler commands. Commission me and you get quality and reliability, not just a delivery.
I stay calm under pressure. Server drama, staff conflict, doesn't matter, I stay fair and resolve it without panic.
2-3 years of staff work across multiple platforms and communities. Co-Owner and Owner in several Minecraft communities: recruitment, training, appeals, budget calls, developer coordination, keeping the community stable. Head Admin work: coordinating moderation and backing high-impact decisions.
In 2024 I was a Branch Supervisor in a large game community. That's where I learned to manage people and keep team operations organized.
Most of it is Discord-based: HR (applications, interviews, disputes, hiring, firing), Support/Helper, Moderation (infractions, warnings, bans, de-escalation), Developer (bots, setup), Senior HR, District Lead, and Owner in my own servers.
That range means I've run operations from every angle: tickets, application review, hard calls, and running systems start to finish. Communication and the community come first.
I found this server and the structure and professionalism stood out. That's what I'm applying for, not out of boredom or for a title. I can add real value here, whether that's tickets, HR review, moderation, management, or custom tools for the server.
Reliability, communication, and consistency. I stay active, especially weekends, follow the rules and procedures, give notice before I'm out, treat people fairly, and take feedback without ego. I keep improving and I contribute to the server's growth long-term.
Being 15 might raise a flag. Judge the skill set and the work ethic instead of the age. I act responsibly and perform like a competent staff member because that's the standard I hold myself to.
